Union MoS of Railways pats Biren Govt

Union minister of state for Textiles and Railways Darshana Vikram Jardosh on Thursday interacted with the media persons of the state on the various developmental projects taken up by the government during a press conference held at Hotel Imphal.
During the interaction, the Union Minister expressed her satisfaction on the projects taken up by the N Biren-led government and said that there is major development in the projects implemented by the central government.
She also said that the seminar on technical textiles conducted recently with the stakeholders provided a good result.
Darshana continued that the railway project is progressing well and 50 per cent of the work of the world's tallest railway bridge has been completed, adding that construction of world class Imphal Station without disturbing natural habitats is in full swing.
She further informed that there are plans to construct low budget hotels where there is natural attractiveness in every station of the railway line project, keeping in view the tourism development in the state.
The minister assured that full support will be given to the state government for successful implementation of the projects.
On handloom and handicrafts, Darshana Vikram Jardosh said that handloom and handicrafts mainly involve women and they are next to agriculture in the state.
There is indication of a close coordination between the state and the central governments in taking up handloom and handicrafts schemes successfully.
There are three handloom products which received GI Tag as the products having GI tag will be easier for international business with countries having bilateral relations.
For smooth internal business, training will be provided by the department concerned to the handloom and handicrafts artisans of the state to meet the global demands, she added.
Keeping in view of the recent unfortunate landslide at Tupul, Noney district, there has been restructuring of the construction work.
IIT companies have done research on techniques regarding cabling, electrification and to avoid disaster in future.
Warning system will also be utilized to make the people alert if any such incidents are likely to occur, the Union Minister further informed.
