AR conducts yoga session, interaction programme

Keithelmanbi Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) conducted an interaction programme with members of NGO Junior Chamber International (JCI) at Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West district on January 22.The interaction programme was organised to discuss the goal of motivating, mentoring and empowering the youths of Manipur by the NGO and Assam Rifles, said a statement of IGAR(S).
A total of 15 members of the NGO interacted with selected Officers, JCOs & OR of Keithelmanbi Battalion.
It may be mentioned that the Imphal Branch of JCI has been working to develop the leadership skills of young men and women in the State.
The NGO has been actively involved in the upliftment, growth and empowerment of youths.
Moreover, Somsai Battalion of 10 Sector Assam Rifles organised a 1-week yoga session from January 16-21 for troops, families and children of Assam Rifles at Somsai, Ukhrul.
The Yoga session was conducted as a part of "Art of Living" initiative to spread awareness and practice aerobic breathing & new yoga techniques to maintain a stress free environment in armed forces.
Troops, families and children were also briefed on the necessity to incorporate yoga in their daily routine to reduce the effect of lifestyle diseases and other physical ailments.
