Imphal, January 22 2023:
Saying that the ongoing BJP Government's War on Drugs is a war, not a play, BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Ch Chidananda has asserted that Congress party should not indulge in popularity politics at the cost of the War on Drugs.
Speaking to media persons at their Nityaipat Chuthek office today, Chidananda maintained that the N Biren Government's War on Drugs would determine the fate of the present and future generations.
It is not a play or some political game, he said.
The MPCC president visiting the office of Kakching SP along with his social media team and taking photos/videos was something unheard of in any part of the country, the BJP vice-president said.
The Congress party should stop seeing the War on Drugs as a play and refrain from disturbing police officers from doing their duties, he said.
Saying that there were 28 cases involving security personnel during the Congress Government which ruled the State for 15 years, Chidananda asked whether any one of these cases was investigated by the CBI.
The Congress party's demand for resignation of Chief Minister N Biren is nothing but cheap politics, he said.
The Govt's War on Drugs and the campaign against poppy plantation would certainly emerge victorious for it is supported by the masses, he claimed.
The Congress ought to support the campaign sincerely, he added.
