National Integration Tour flagged in at Khuga

Brigadier Michael D'Souza, Commander Churachandpur Sector, Assam Rifles today flagged-in the National Integration Tour organised by Assam Rifles at Battalion HQ Khuga.
A release issued by PRO of IGAR(S) informed that the tour was organised for a group of 17 students and 2 teachers from St Joseph's School, Lyzon Friendship School, Singhat Higher Secondary School, Hill Model High School and Rayburn High School, all under Singhat Sub-division.
The tour went from Imphal to Delhi, Amritsar and Dimapur between January 7-22, 2023.Speaking on the occasion, Brigadier Michael D'Souza appreciated the participants for their wholehearted involvement & contribution in making the tour a successful, learning and enriching event.
He also encouraged them to utilise the learning and unique experience of the tour in becoming responsible & duty bound citizens.
The students expressed their unparalleled elation and gratitude towards Assam Rifles for such an all-inclusive opportunity and assured to utilise their opportunity to the fullest in their quest for a fulfilling future.
It may be mentioned that the NIT was flagged off by Brigadier Michael D'Souza on January 7 during a ceremony conducted by Khuga Battalion under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South).
The tour was conceptualised by Assam Rifles and supported by Indian Army with an aim of broadening the horizons of the students of border villages by exposing them to the rich history, culture and traditions of the country.
The integration tour was spread over a period of 16 days and covered places of national, historical, cultural and educational importance in Delhi, Amritsar, Wagah Border, Dimapur and Kohima.
During the tour, the students got a lifetime opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan and interact with the President of India, Draupadi Murmu and witness the spellbinding Retreat Ceremony at Wagah Border.
The students also got a chance to interact with Senior Army Officers in Amritsar.
