Assam Rifles flags in all-girl NIT

Imphal, January 22 2023:
Churachandpur Sector commander Brig Michael D'Souza flagged in the all-girl National Integration Tour (NIT) organised by Khuga Battalion of IGAR (S) at Battalion Headquarters Khuga on Sunday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Khuga Battalion organised the tour for a group of 17 students and two teachers of St Joseph's School, Lyzon Friendship School, Singhat Higher Secondary School, Hill Model High School and Rayburn High School under Singhat sub-division to Delhi-Amritsar-Dimapur from January 7 to 22 .
The tour was conceptualised by Assam Rifles and supported by Indian Army with an aim of broadening the horizons of the students of border villages by exposing them to the rich history, culture and traditions of our country.
The tour covered places of national, historical, cultural and educational importance in Delhi, Amritsar, Wagah Border, Dimapur and Kohima.
During the tour, the students got a lifetime opportunity to visit Rashtrapati Bhavan and interact with the President of India Droupadi Murmu and witness the spellbinding retreat ceremony at Wagah Border.
During the course of NIT, the participating students also got a chance to interact with senior army officers at Amritsar.
During his address and interaction with participants, Brig Michael D'Souza appreciated the NIT team for their wholehearted involvement and contribution in making the tour a successful, learning and enriching event and encouraged them to utilise the learning and unique experience of the tour in becoming responsible and duty bound citizens and also use that as a forerunner for achieving their future aspirations and dreams.
The students expressed unparalleled elation and gratitude towards Assam Rifles for such an all-inclusive opportunity and assured to utilise their opportunity to the fullest in their quest for a fulfilling future, the PRO added.
