Scheduled Tribe status to the Meitei Pangal as a form of constitutional safeguard to one of indigenous communities of Manipur; handing over the responsibility of all activities related to the movement to Meitei Pangal Scheduled Tribe Demand Committee and for all Meitei Pangal bodies to extend full support to the Committee along with the people; and lastly, cooperating with the different indigenous communities of the state for maintaining peace, harmony and a symbiotic relationship.

He continued that although the Meitei Pangal community may follow Is lam, it is different from other followers of Islam across the globe as the community has its own culture, tradition, customs and society.
However, globalisation has heavily impacted the community and thus, the convention was organised with the objective of ensuring a safe future for the future generations of the community.
