Dingo lauds efforts of Manipuri diaspora in safeguarding indigenous customs and traditions

Social Welfare Minister Heikham Dingo has lauded the effort of Manipuris who have settled outside the State in safeguarding andnurturing their indigenous customs and tradition.
The Minister was speaking at the Puthiba Laiharaoba Utsav held at Puthiba Devata Bari Mandir in Abhoy Nagar, Agartala, Tripura from January 12 to 16.Speaking on the occasion, Heikham Dingo lauded the 'Lai Haraoba' organised by Puthiba Lai Haraoba Committee and Puthiba Welfare & Cultural Society for adhering to the traditional rituals and customs.
Addressing the long standing demand of the Tripura Meitei community to build a Manipur Bhavan in Tripura, the Minister assured that the same will be constructed without fail.
The Minister also shared that Chief Minister N Biren Singh and the Tripura Chief Minister had communicated in this regard and reached an agreement to build the Manipur Bhavan.
Lastly, Heikham Dingo called upon the Meiteis who have settled outside the State in Tripura, Myanmar, Bangladesh etc to come together and promote and preserve the traditions and customs of Manipur.
