Easy wins for IBSA, AKSDO in Plate Tournament

IBSA and AKSDO notched up easy wins in the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament on Monday.
IBSA handed a heavy nine-wicket defeat to MPA in their Group B meeting at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
IBSA produced a brilliant bowling performance to bun the out MPA for a meagre 71 in 24.2 overs and they went on to knock off the runs in just 7.5 overs.
Rajababu and Pravesh made light work of MPA's batting order as the IBSA duo shared seven wickets between them.
Rajababu snapped four wickets from his five overs and Pravesh claimed three scalps from his four overs.
Karan Prajapati did his part taking two wickets and Yengkhom Bhomendro bagged one.
For MPA, Nando Chongtham (24) and Wahengbam Naresh kumar (11) were the batters who got into double digits in their innings.
After their impressive bowling show, IBSA made short work of their target courtesy of Moirangthem Sunanda (30 not out) and Rajababu (26 not out) as the duo wrapped up the victory in 7.5 overs.
In the chase, they lost just one wicket as Robinson Sanasam (4) was dismissed by Nando Chongtham via Suraj's catch.
Rajababu emerged as the man of the match.
IBSA are now level on eight points with Group B leaders NCA, who have better NRR to be at the top.
AKSDO, meanwhile, beat THAU by 58 runs in their Group A encounter at Oriental College.
AKSDO posted 214 after they were dismissed in 39.4 overs.
Winchelly Laishram top-scored for his side with 72 off 71 balls, Chinglensana Moirangthem made 48 from 79 deliveries, Bisherjit Mangang collected 23 and Saikhom Kaiku contributed 16 in their innings.
Three each of THAU's wickets fell to N Surash and Khumukcham Romesh and two to Yungkham Ortega Roy.
In reply, THAU played 36.3 overs but struggled to score big runs.
They were bowled out for 156 as Diamond's fine knock of 52 and decent effort from Malesh Kumar Nganbam (29) went in vain.
For AKSDO, Saikhom Kaiku and Rosan Laishram picked up two wickets each while Akash Laishram, Rohit Laishram and Sanayai Ningthoujam bagged one each in their triumph.
Winchelly Laishram took home the man of the match trophy.
