Two pilot projects on the way to ensure ample water supply, says Th Shanti

Moirang Assembly Constituency MLA Thongam Shanti has shared that two pilot projects are on the way in areas under Moirang Municipal Council and Kwakta Municipal Council to ensure ample supply of water to citizens.
Thongam Shanti made the statement while speaking to media persons during an inspection trip across various localities in Moirang AC.
Elaborating on the projects, the MLA shared that two water reservoirs equipped with a filtration system will be set up at 'Dozo Pukhri' located at Moirang Mairembam Leikai and 'Pukhri Achouba' at Kwakta Municipal Council Ward No 7 .
"The water reservoirs will reportedly provide an estimated 20,000 litres of water per day to the people", said the MLA while adding that if the pilot projects prove to be successful, similar projects will be taken up across the constituency.
Maintaining that the pilot projects will be sponsored by MLA Local Area Development Fund, he asserted that this project will eliminate the problem of water scarcity in the region.
Elaborating on the importance of bypass roads, Thongam Shanti assured to renovate the Moirang Thangjing Mamang Leikai bypass road using the LADF as well as other bypass roads soon.
It is worth noting that during the inspection trip, the MLA inspected the local pond located at Mairembam Leikai Sendra road, crematorium and pond at Shribon and Thana Leikai, Moirang Thangjing Mamang Leikai bypass road, drainage system at Khadrakhong, etc.
