UCM offers free education to orphan Meeteis of Tripura

United Committee Ma nipur (UCM) has announced that it would provide educational facilities to Meetei orphan children living in Tripura who have no support.
The announcement was made by UCM president Joy-chandra Konthoujam during the 3rd foundation day celebration of Takhel Thang-Ta Academy and Major Chongtha Mia Library Academy organised jointly by Takhel Thang-Ta Academy and Justice Committee on Anglo-Manipuri War 1891 Martyr Fighters of Kangleipak on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Joychandra informed that if there are children of Meetei origin in Tripura who are orphaned and have no source of income, UCM will provide them free educational facilities.
In addition to sponsoring education from class III to X, UCM is also willing to provide training on art and culture to interested individuals.
UCM will arrange teachers if the students have issues in coming to Manipur, he assured.
The UCM president also stated that Meeteis were once very courageous community.
Our forefathers left us all that are needed and it is up to us to use those things left by our forefathers in the most appropriate manner so as to enable us to compete with anyone.
The function was also attended by Justice Committee advisor Luwangcha Chingkhei, Chongtha Mia Memorial Committee general secretary Chongtham Ibungo, CLK advisor Ayekpam Langdon and KIL president RK Sanahanbi.
