45th Sub-Junior State Level Handball Championships underway

Imphal, April 06 2024: The 45th edition of Sub-Junior Boys and Girls State Level Handball Championship kicked off today at The Yaipha Lamjing Kanglup (YLK) ground in Chingjarel Tejpur, Imphal East.

7 boys' teams and 5 girls' teams clubbed into two groups are participating in the tournament organised by the Manipur Handball Association.

In the opening match of the Sub-Junior Boys competition (Group B), hosts YLK, Chingarel sealed a 20-2 win over SSC, Khurai.

N Adison led the scoring for YLK adding 9 goals as S Keiku added 4 goals.

Meanwhile in the Group A opener, KVWA, Mayang Imphal defeated CYDOL, Lilong 17-7 courtesy of 9 goals coming from H Bidyananda.

In the third match (Group A), OYO, Kongpal crushed ESU, Wangkhei 28-14 .

IMC, Thoubal also opened their Group B winning account by defeating SSC, Khurai 20-12 courtesy.

Meanwhile in the Girls' Tournament opener (Group A), OYO defeated IMC, Thoubal by 13-5 goals courtesy of RK Nilamjoyshree who added 8 goals alone.
