MPs, MLA, others meet Governor

Langthabal assembly constituency MLA Karam Shyam, a delegation of five Communist Party of India MPs and representatives of CRPF Wives' Welfare Asso-ciation meet with Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bha - van on Friday.
During the meeting, MLA Shyam apprised the Gover-nor about the prevailing law and order situation arising out of the unprecedented ethnic clash between two communities that broke out on May 3.On her part, the Gover-nor reiterated the appeal made from her side to all sections of the society, es-pecially to womenfolk of the state to extend their fullest cooperation to the security personnel while discharging their responsibilities at all the vulnerable areas of the state to restore peace and normalcy.
The Governor further requested all the elected people's represen-tatives of Manipur to make relentless efforts to bring the situation under control and bring peace through a peaceful and amicable di-alogue so as to enable the government to resettle all the displaced people to their respective places.
On the other hand, five Members of Parliament (MP) of CPI and CPI (M) namely John Brittas, Bikashran-jan Bhattacharya, Santosh Kumar, Subba Rayan and Binoy Vishwan discussed with the Governor the ethnic clash between two communities in the state.
The team expressed their apprehensive that unless the situation is brought under control in time, an uncontrollable communal flare up cannot be ruled out which will adversely affect the nation in general and the whole North-Eastern states in particular.
The team also assured all possible as-sistance in stabilising the situation.
Meanwhile, CRPF Wives' Welfare Association, Mani-pur and Nagaland Sector, sector head Rajni Datta along with 25 members of the As-sociation and family mem-bers called on the Governor and discussed issues, inter alia welfare activities taken up by the Association.
