Imphal, July 07 2023:
It is impossible for Kuki militants to annihilate the Meitei, which even the British failed to accomplish.
Thus, it would be best for the Kuki militants to give up this unrealistic dream once and for all, advised Umanglai Kanba Lup (UKAL) general secretary Mutum Maniton while urging all followers of indigenous religion to unite and launch movement against the central govern-ment and Kuki militants.
Addressing a press meet held at UKAL shanglen at Pureiromba Khongnang-makhong on Friday, Mani-ton said that Kuki terrorists must understand that their dream to annihilate the Meiteis, who have defended Manipur against its envious enemies since time immemo-rial, will never materialise.
As such, it would be best for the Kuki militants to give up this dream of eliminating the Meiteis, which even the British and Awa (erstwhile Burma, now Myanmar) could not accomplish despite re-peated attempts.
Maniton continued that it is now time for followers of all indigenous religion to unite and launch movement against the central govern-ment and Kuki militants, considering the attacks car-ried out at religious places by narco-terrorists.
The most recent attack was on Thurs-day, in which Kuki terrorists burnt down the sacred site of Kongba Maru Laipham, he said.
The UKAL general secre-tary said that followers of indigenous religions and caretakers of the sacred and holy sites have been staying calm till date so as not to further escalate the tension.
However, it is no longer pos-sible to maintain composure amid the continuous provo-cation.
All indigenous people in Manipur take their origins seriously but the central and state governments continue to undermine the attacks on sacred sites by narco-terror-ist, which is clearly making a mockery India's ethos of democracy and secularism.
As such, it would be best for the Manipur Governor to go back since her powers are practically useless in the prevailing situation, he re-marked.
Maniton then said that fol-lowers of all indigenous re-ligions in the state will con-vene a meeting to reconstruct the sacred sites destroyed.
In addition, the SoO signed between the Kuki militants and the central government is a meaningless agreement.
Thus, followers of the indig-enous religions will launch a white revolution to expose the central government's lies to the world, he added.
The press meet was attend-ed by Uttra Shanglen, Sana Konung custom secretary Th Ibungohal; LSTB VP Bidyapa - ti Senjam (Wakhal Lamling-ba); Kongba Maru Ihougalor Luwangcha Ningthemjao and LSTB member Keisham Ibomcha.
Meanwhile, Kongba Maru Laiphemlel Apunba Semgat Lup submitted a written re-quest to the chief secretary and officials concerned to take strict action against the Kuki militants involved in the burning of Kongba Maru.
