Imphal, July 07 2023:
Coordinating Com-mittee on Manipur Integri-ty (COCOMI) said that the Government of India (G01) never considers people of Manipur as its own citizens with one clear example being high-handedness by central forces against women in the ongoing violence.
In a statement, COCOMI said it is responsibility of central security forces to protect lives and properties of the people.
To contain the ongoing violence, thousands of central forces are being deployed at different places of Manipur but they are still unable to end the turmoil.
In the name of containing the violence and bringing peace, central forces are not only committing atrocities against the innocent people but also extending covert logistic support to narco- terrorists in killing innocent civilians.
The COCOMI statement further said that blocking of police by central forces after Kuki militants intruded into Meetei village and killed innocent a villager on Friday in a highly sensitive area in Bishnupur district not only showcased dishonour of the state but also made it clear that the state is under colo-nial suppression.
Strongly condemning the alleged act of the central force, COCOMI warned of initiating legal ac-tion in coordination with the people.
The COCOMI also said that it along with the people of Manipur will launch intense movement against the GOI to remove AR from the state if the force does not perform its duty diligently.
