Tongbram Robindro urges inmates to take up handicrafts, weaving, farming activities'

To enhance economic sustainability, Thanga MLA Tongbram Robindro today encouraged the internally displaced individuals to take up handicrafts and weaving activities or even work at nearby farms.
The MLA also promised to provide the 'raw materials' for their economic survival in the form of noninterest loans and even provide farms for farming.
Tongbram Robindro was interacting with the inmates of various relief camps opened across Thanga AC.
One of the relief camps he visited was opened recently at Thanga Moirangthem in Bishnupur district.
The inmates of the camps were shifted from a relief camp opened at a school in Moirang as part of the arrangement for reopening of schools.
Essential relief items such as mattress, pillow, mosquito nets, utensils including edibles items were donated by the MLA during his visit to the camp.
A sum of Rs 500 each was also distributed to the 115 inmates as a first installment of the "Onetime financial assistance for clothing and personnel belonging to those living in relief camps" in collaboration with the District Administration of Bishnupur.
The scheme was launched by Chief Minister N Biren on June 27 .
Speaking to the media, Robindro emphasized on the need to let the economy and agricultural activities run smoothly, and ensure all children are not deprived of education.
Meanwhile one has to stay alert to protect themselves against any attack in the peripheral region, he said while adding that security measures have also been strengthened in the peripheral vulnerable regions.
Regarding the 15 relief camps opened across Thanga AC, the MLA assured to provide all essential items with support from the people of his constituency and the district administration.
It may be noted that the MLA has been providing 10 days ration in all the 15 relief camps continuously after every ten days.
