Many continue to extend humanitarian assistance to the people who have been affected by the ongoing conflict in Manipur.
Under the directive of the Chairperson, a joint team from Manipur Commission for Protection of Child Rights (MCPCR) led by Programme Officer of the Commission along with Protection Officer (Non Institutional Care), DCPU, Bishnupur and Secretary, MSCW visited relief camps set up at SAI complex Utlou, Oinam Government.
Higher Secondary School, Relief Control Centre in old DC complex and Relief Control Centre in DRDA, Bishnupur district to enquire into the welfare of children staying in these relief camps.
In a release, MCPCR informed that the team met with the camp in charge/caretakers/ organisers and inmates of the relief camps.
During the visit, it was observed that the relief camps were functioning smoothly and volunteers were relentlessly & tirelessly serving the people staying in the camps.
Essential items such as food and medicines were provided to the inmates.
Small children were seen playing inside the relief camps.
The team also noted that the relief camps needed more educational/ play materials for the children and counselling especially for young children & parents.
Members of
NAVARATANA, Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Leikai, today provided essential items including rice, potato, drinking water, salt, onion, etc to the volunteers who are camping in Khoijumantabi under Kumbi Assembly Constituency to guard the villagers.
In a release, NAVARATANA informed that the essential items were provided with contributions from its members.
The essential items were handed over to the members of Khoijumantabi Development Committee (KDC) by a team led by NAVARATANA president Kshetrimayum Subadani Devi.
Ksh Subadani was accompanied by NAVARATANA vice president Thingujam Shantibala, secretary Maibam Memcha, joint secretary Meikam Sobha, finance secretary Phurailatpam Mina, social & cultural activist Rakesh Naorem, social activist Dr Inaoba Nongmaithem and Norem Romila among others.
Similarly, a team of Human Rights Defender, Manipur consisting of president Joy Chingakham, joint secretary Kenny Khwairakpam and executive member Naorem Dinesh along with two volunteers visited Salungpham Mamang Leikai on July 6 and distributed essential items to help the villagers.
To help the people affected by the present unrest, the Moirangkampu Sajeb Women Welfare Association has also donated a monetary aid of Rs 10.000 each to Loiching Loiya Kanba Lup Leimaram and Senjam Chirang Youth Club.
Besides, Raj Medicity, a leading hospital in Manipur, has received a donation of Rs 50.000 from M/S Nong-En Remedies, Imphal, Manipur.
The donation comes in response to the ongoing violence in Manipur which has caused numerous injuries and casualties, said Raj Medicity in a release.
While receiving the donation, Dr Vijayraj Haobijam, executive director, Raj Medicity, acknowledged the efforts made by the M/S Nong-En Remedies and thanked the proprietor Kiranjoy for his generosity.
He shared that the donation will play a vital role in the efforts of Raj Medicity to provide free & effective treatment to all those who have been affected by the ongoing violence.
"The hospital remains committed to providing the best possible treatment to all violence affected patients and will continue to work towards achieving this goal with the help and support of its well-wishers", said Raj Medicity.
