Online RTI portal launched, MIC resumes hearing

High Court of Ma-nipur acting Chief Justice MV Muralidaran launched Manipur High Court's new online RTI Portal https:/ / hcmrtiportal.in at the court premises on Friday.
The launch function was attended by High Court of Manipur judge and Com-puter Committee chairper-son Justice A Bimol Singh and Committee member Justice A Guneshwar Shar-ma.
The online portal was developed by the Court's system admin Konsam Malemnganba Singh and Developer Level-3 Salam Charanjit Singh.
The digital platform will not only ad-dress the issue of physical paperwork and physical payment, but also reduce the time and effort needed in obtaining the preferred information.
The portal will further aid in making the Right to Information (RTI) Act more effective and effi-cient.
The portal also has a user friendly interface, on-line application filing, real time tracking and prompt response among other fea-tures.
Anyone can access the new Online RTI Portal through the website of High Court of Manipur, which is also provided with detailed instructions and guidelines, High Court of Manipur joint registrar (Judicial) / CPC Shubham conveyed.
Meanwhile, state in-formation commissioner Oinam Sunil has informed that all RTI hearings un-der Manipur Information Commission (MIC), which were put on hold due to the prevailing violence in the state, have resumed from Friday onwards.
Addressing a press meet at MIC office in New Secretar-iat on here on Friday, com-missioner Sunil informed that the RTI hearings were not possible due to the un-rest situation since May 3 and imposition of curfew in the state.
However, as schools have reopened and curfew hours restricted to night-time, the Commis-sion decided to resume the hearing.
On Friday alone, four cases were heard, he conveyed.
Informing that applicants and government officers concerned from near and far away districts, and unable to attend physically, can attend the hearings online through Jitsi Meet app, Sunil said that if there is difficulty in attending the hearing via the app, audio hearings via telephone is possible.
Meanwhile, postal ser-vices are being provided in the valley.
The relevant notices/documents will be sent to the DCs, who have been urged to deliver the same to the individuals con-cerned, he conveyed.
