Imphal, July 07 2023:
While urging all the political par-ties, CSOs, Meira Paibi groups, clubs and organisations to stand firm for overcoming the crisis situation, People's Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA) stated that the political class must show vision to end the conflict and ease the pain and suffering of the common people.
In a release, PRJA spokesperson L Biju expressed grave concern that Manipur is facing an existential crisis and the idea of Manipur as a multi-ethnic and diverse state is under attack.
If the idea of Manipur as a multi-ethnic state fails then the idea of India as a multi ethnic, multi-racial diverse country will also fail.
The strength of India is its diversity which is also the same for Manipur, he maintained.
If separate administration is given after such provocation then it will set a very bad precedent and if separate administrations are given after every communal conflict, India will have thousands of separate ad-ministrations, he observed, while asserting that successive central and state govern-ments have allowed the Kuki-Chin terrorist groups to grow and become powerful.
Now, there are more than 20 such groups ready to attack the indigenous communities, he added.
