Meira paibis of Heirok Part II Thokchom Leikai have extended relief in the form of food items to the family of Late Abujam Ronaldo who was killed on July 4 .
Speaking by the sideline of the relief effort, one Khundongbam (Ongbi) Gunamani Leima from Heirok Part II Thokchom Leikai has stated that the aid initiative was conducted as a way for the community to collectively partake in the sorrow of the bereaved family and provide a form of assistance.
She appealed to the authorities concerned to ensure that such unfortunate incidents do not happen again.
Further she appealed for timely submission of reports with regards to the magisterial inquiry to be launched by the State Government on the death of Abujam Ronaldo.
Separately, locals of Kairembikhok village have extended relief materials to the inmates of the relief camps at Khoijuman Tabi and Chairel Mangjin.
It may be noted that three Meitei village volunteers who were guarding their villages at Laingoubi Ching were reportedly gunned down by Kuki militants on July 2 .
Every household in Kairembikhok village donated rice, lentils, cooking oil, salt, money and other essential commodities while the meira paibis in collaboration with the local youth delivered the relief materials at the relief camps.
The relief team also visited the residences of the three village volunteers who were killed while defending their localities and shared in the grief of the bereaved family and extended their deepest condolences.
