Five Members of Parliament belonging to the Left Parties interacted with violence-affected people, local leaders and the media during their daylong visit here on Friday.
The MPs namely Bikashranjan Bhattacharya (Rajya Sabha, West Bengal), John Brittas (Rajya Sabha, Kerala), Binay Vishwam (Rajya Sabha Kerala), Santosh Kumar P (Rajya Sabha, Kerala) and K Subba Rayan (Lok Sabha, Kerala) first visited Greenwood Academy and interacted with the internally displaced persons followed by Kuki Inpi Churachandpur office where they met with leaders of the Inpi.
They later visited Sadbhavna Mandap hall where many violence affected people are taking shelter.
The MPs also visited the site for the Wall of Remembrance.
During interaction with media persons, the MPs said the country would face internecine conflicts and communal violence if BJP continues to rule the country and gave a clarion call to the people to stand united against divisive forces.
Another MP said that silence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi at this hour of crisis in Manipur is condem-nable while explaining that purpose of their visit is to extend solidarity to the people of Manipur and contribute their mite in resolving the crisis.
According to Binoy Viswam, the BJP has failed the people of Manipur, forcing them to become "refugees in their own country" .
Viswam reached the state on Thurs-day on a two-day visit as part of a five-member delegation of CPI (M) and CPI MPs to express solidarity with the people of the violence-hit state.
In a joint statement issued earli-er, the parties said the "claims of the greatest governance through double engine government are now exposed to the marrow of its bones" .
On Friday, Viswam said, "In Ma-nipur, people are forced to become refugees in their own country.
In the camps, people were telling the CPI-CPI (M) delegation about the divide-and-rule policy of the rulers.
Common people have that insight.
The BJP has failed Manipur.
They will have to pay the price for this treachery" .
