Govt has lost legitimacy, say CPI MPs

A five member team of CPI and CPI (M) MPs who are visiting Manipur said that Chief Minister N Biren Singh led BJP Government in Manipur has completely lost its legitimacy as well as the trust and confidence of the people.
The MPs made the statement after meeting Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey this evening in front of Raj Bhavan.
The MPs conveyed that they have appealed to the Manipur Governor to try a new way in restoring peace and normalcy in the State.
The Communist MPs who met the Governor today were CPI (M) RS MP John Brittas, B Bhattacharya, CPI RS MP P Shandosh Kumar, Binoy Vishwam and CPI LS MP K Subba Rayan.
MP B Bhattacharya informed that the Communist MPs suggested the Governor to constitute a committee of responsible citizens and all political leaders to work in line with bringing peace and normalcy in the State.
He further said that the Communist MPs have called for active participation of the office of the Governor as it is imperative for removing the feeling of mistrust between the conflicting communities and building up the trust and unity between them.
MP John Brittas stated that taking up confidence building measures for both the conflicting sides is quite important to contain the prevailing unrest in the State.
Continuing that the State Government led by the Chief Minister Biren Singh has completely lost its legitimacy and trust of the people, he alleged that the Chief Minister has become a part of the problem and one can think of restoring peace and tranquility in the State when the Chief Minister quits.
John went on to inform that the Communist MPs have apprised the Governor about the failure of the Chief Minister and his Government.
MP Binoy Vishwam asserted that the victims in the relief camps they visited are agitating that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has not spoken even a single word on the unend-.

MP Bhattacharya asserted that a de-tailed report of the situation in Manipur will be submitted to the Home Minister besides raising the matter to both the Houses of the Indian Parliament in the upcoming session.
While informing that their visit is for three days, the MP conveyed that the team of the Communist MPs has already vis-ited many of the relief camps in Moirang and Churachandpur, and taken stock of the plights and problems there.
In Moirang, the MP team visited Khuyol Keithel and Moirang College and interacted with the inmates.
