PK Jha launches ISHTH campaign

PK Jha, Commissioner Health and Family Welfare, Government of Manipur, today launched the Integrated STI, HIV, TB and Hepatitis (ISHTH) campaign for prisons and other closed settings in Manipur at Women Central Jail, New Lambulane, Imphal.
In a release, Manipur State AIDS Control Society (MSACS) informed that the campaign aims to provide STI counselling, screening & treatment, HIV counselling, screening & referrals for confirmatory testing, TB screening, sputum collection, sample collection for Viral Hepatitis testing, facilitate linkage of confirmed HIV, TB and Viral Hepatitis for treatment & General health check-up for the inmates.
The objective of the campaign is also to saturate and expand HIV, STI, TB and Viral Hepatitis.
Speaking at the event, PK Jha stated that the ISHTH campaign is an endeavour to provide healthcare facilities to the people who are in prisons and closed settings to ensure that they stay healthy.
Haobam Rosita, Project Director, MSACS; Sorokhaibam Bhdadrika, SP, Manipur Central Jail and Dr Somorjit Ningombam, State Mission Director, State Health Society, National Health Mission, Manipur also attended the event.
