Governor, others greet on Eid

Governor Anusuiya Uikey , MPCC and civil society organisations have extended warm wishes to the people of Manipur especially the Muslim community, on the occasion of Eid - ul Adha on Thursday.
In her message, Governor Anusuiya said that Id-Ul-Zuha meaning 'festival of sacrifice' signifies the spirit of sacrifice rising above the narrow barriers of one's ego and self-interest for the good of all.
The festival promotes tolerance, harmony and goodwill amongst different communities, she added.
"On this sacred occasion let us forget our differences and usher in an era of peace and harmony in Manipur," the Governor said.
In separate releases, United Committee Manipur IPR secretary Leishemba Lamaba, All Manipur Ethnical Socio-cul-tural Organisation publicity secretary Deepu Wangkhem, United Meitei Pangal Educational Social Development Organisation secretary Md Mubarak Ali and Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) president Keis-ham Meghachandra wished the people of Manipur peace, prosperity and normalcy at the earliest with the celebration of Eid.
