Imphal, June 28 2023:
Meino leirak, Salam Leikai, Wahengbam Leikai Apunba Nupi Lup has raised suspicions that the chief minister has been brainwash in Delhi, considering his statements changes whenever he returns from Delhi .
In a press meet held at Manipur press Club here Wednesday, Lup president Laishram Nirupama said that leaders of the state need to stand and work in the interests of the state.
However, for Manipur CM, it seems that whenever he returns from a visit to Delhi, his statements change, making it seem as if had been brainwashed by the central leaders.
She continued that the mothers of Manipur had to step up to the frontlines for the safety and protection of their children.
As such, it is disheartening to hear the CM portray their efforts in bad light.
She then urged the CM not to try suppressing the Meira Paibi for their absence will lead to complete annihilation of the state owing to the divide and rule policy.
Regardless of what both the union home minister and the chief minister say, the Meira Paibi and mothers will continue to fight for their children and the territorial integrity of Manipur, she affirmed.
Lup general secretary M Umashini said that the blockade along NH-2 is yet to be opened and the union home minister is unable to remove the same.
She continued that the assault an journalists by Kukis must not be taken lightly, the Meitei do not like violence and will never be the first to attack anyone but will do all that is necessary to defend and protect their loves ones and the state.
She then condemned the statements made against the womenfolk particularly the Meira Paibi and urged the CM to rethink his statements.
Umashini also pointed out the CM's silence when the people in the peripheral areas desperately requested for deployment of security forces at the beginning of the riots.
As such, villages had to set up village defence force to protect themselves and the womenfolk also joined in the efforts, including spending the nights outside guarding the roads and localities.
The union home minister and the CM's observations about the violence abating in the state are contradictory when they cannot guarantee the safe return of the Meiteis who had to flee from their home in Churachandpur.
She then questioned what steps are being taken up with regard to reports of three vehicles carrying weapons entering the state from Myanmar, while urging all concerned to work together to protect the integrity of the state at all cost.
