Imphal, June 28 2023:
Senior vice president of Shiv Sena, State unit M Tikendra has said that abrogation of Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact with Kuki militants and driving out of the narco-terrorists from Manipur are indispensable for peace and normalcy to return in the State.
Addressing the media at Shiv Sena Bhavan here today, M Tikendra continued that they have submitted a three-point memorandum to Union Home Minister Amit Shah during the all political party meeting convened at New Delhi on June 24 .
As per him, the points mentioned in the memorandum were to implement National Register of Citizens (NRC) and uniform land law in Manipur, abrogate SoO pact with Kuki militants and to drive out the narco-terrorists from Manipur.
Saying that it is the ceaseless attack on Meetei villages by narco-terrorists from neighbouring countries which creates the unrest in Manipur, he added that these terrorists need to be pushed back for peace to prevail in the State.
Meeteis will become a minority in its own State if the influx of illegal immigrants is not checked, M Tikendra maintained and reiterated the need to implement NRC in Manipur.
He went on to appeal to the Union Government to either formulate a uniform land law for Manipur or to declare the entire Manipur as a hill State.
There can never be two administrations in Manipur, M Tikendra added.
Appealing to the Government to take up special security arrangements to pursue agricultural works especially at foothills and the periphery of the valley districts, M Tikendra further asked the Government to make sure adequate fertilizers and insecticides/pesticides are available to farmers.
