Relief effort continues

Ningombam Youth Pioneer's Club, Thoubal Ningombam in association with local meira paibis have extended relief materials to 38 displaced persons seeking refuge in 17 households under the jurisdiction of the Club.
It may be noted that many displaced families who have been uprooted from their homes in Serou, Sugnu, Ingourok and Yaingangpokpi due to the conflict have sought shelter at the residence of their kinfolk.
As Ningombam Youth Pioneer's Club, Thoubal Ningombam has expressed their resolve to continue their charitable act of extending aid to these displaced folks, it may be mentioned that the Club had previously donated relief materials to relief camps at Thoubal TT Hall as well as three relief camps in Yambem and two in Sugnu.

Separately, Rural Youth Development Organisation (RYDO) Charangpat Maning Leikai donated consumable items for the inmates at the relief camp set up at Ideal Girls College, Akampat in Thongju Assembly Constituency under Imphal East district.
During the relief effort, Thokchom Maimu, president, RYDO enumerated their stand which included abrogation of Suspension of Operation (SoO) pact, uphold the territorial integrity of Manipur, implementation of National Register of Citizens in the State and amendment of land laws.
He added that the Government must also do away with its penchant of remaining quiet once a disturbance/state of turmoil dies down.
Thokchom Maimu strongly asserted that the Government must listen to the voices of the people and their wants.
With regards to the relief effort, he said that the displaced families who have lost their homes and their livelihoods in the violence have the support of the people.
