Peace Committee Kakching convenes meeting; M Rameshwar meets inmates

Peace Committee, District Administration Kakching conducted a meeting today at Old Age Home Kakching in the presence of chairman of the Committee and MLA of Kakching Assembly Constituency MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar.
Other notable personalities who attended the meeting include vice-chairman Yengkhom Nilachandra and former Minister and president of Senior Citizens Forum Kakching Nongmaithem Nimai as presidium members.
The gathering discussed measures for the welfare of the displaced families seeking shelter at various relief camps in Kakching district as well as the Government's assurance to build pre-fabricated houses for the victims of violence at the earliest.
Separately, MLA Rameshwar also met with the inmates of relief camps set up at Old Age Home -Kakching, Kha Manipur College Kakching, Kakching Wairi Kongoi Community Hall, Kalyan Ashram Kakching, Yumbi Macha High School Kakching and Life School Kakching.
Enquiring after their needs and conditions of the relief camps, the MLA proceeded to provide them with much-needed financial aid.
Speaking in this connection, the MLA stated that when delegates of MLAs and Minister from the State had visited Delhi and met with the Union Ministers, they had received assurances for immediate measures to restore peace in Manipur, contain Kuki militants, ensure safe and speedy rehabilitation and resettlement of displaced populations and take steps for their general well-being.
The Union Ministers had also conveyed that no harm will come to the united structure of Manipur, he said.
Similar assurances were echoed when Governor Anusuiya Uikey met with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other Union Ministers, he added, while expressing gratitude towards the political leaders for their positive assurances.
MLA Rameshwar also appealed to the people to get along with the displaced families and treat them with kindness, love and generosity so that their spirits may be lifted.
Lastly, he urged the womenfolk of Manipur to help in restoring peace in Manipur, upholding the territorial integrity of Manipur and leading the way to a developed Manipur" .
