6584.94 MT of Urea fertilizer lifted in April-June period

The quantity of urea fertilizer lifted during April-June period is 6584.94 MT against the total allocation of 20,000 MT for the Kharif season this year.
As per a public notification released yesterday by the Director of Department of Agriculture, 5264.145 MT of Urea fertilizer was lifted by the private dealers while the rest (1320.795) was lifted by the department besides an opening balance of 1470 MT of Urea fertilizer for Rabi season (2022-23) .
Of the total quantity lifted by the department, Imphal East, Imphal West and Thoubal/Kakching are allocated 607.50 MT (13500 x45 kg bags) .
The allocation for other remaining districts are as follows.
Bishnupur- 450 MT (10000x45 kg bags)
Tamenglong/Noney-67.50 MT (1500x45 kg bags)
Churachandpur/Pherzawl- 135 MT (3000x45 kg bags)
Chandel/Tengnoupal-90 MT (2000x45 kg bags)
Ukhrul/Kamjong- 90 MT (2000x45 kg bags)
Senapati/Kangpokpi- 67.50 MT (1500x 45 kg bags)
Jiribam- 67.50 MT (1500x 45 kg bags) .
As per the notification, 3303.270 MT of the total quantity (5264.145 MT) lifted by private dealers is already in Imphal and the present stock in various districts is 1826.640 MT with 1960.875 MT being in transit.
Farmers may avail the opportunity of buying fertilizers from private dealers, the Director said.
The Director also appealed to farmers not to resort to panic buying of urea fertilizers as many fertilizer companies are ready to supply State's requirement and the status of availability of the fertilizer will be placed in public domain from time to time.
