BJP calls Congress irresponsible party

It is very unfortunate that the Congress party, which did not turned up at the all-political party meeting convened by Union Home minister Amit Shah during his four-day visit to Manipur and took no responsibility to bring solution to prevailing crisis in Manipur, is now making statements as if the party cares for the state, opined BJP state president A Sharda Devi.
Addressing media persons at BJP's Nityaipat Chuthek office here on Wednesday, Sharda said that the Congress party politicising the ethnic violence amid the BJP putting all efforts to douse the flame is unwarranted.
Stating that BJP does not want to politicise the situation, she contended that some political parties have been making false remarks when the BJP is trying to restore peace in the state.
The Assam chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the NEDA chairman, had clarified over the allegation levelled by a leader of the UKLF.
She also stated that the SoO agreement was signed during the Congress rule and that four places in Kangpokpi namely Koubru Leikha, To-/ibari, Kalapahar and Shantabari, which were earlier under municipal council, were placed under ADC during their rule.
While clarifying that the party under her leadership had not remained silent but took up measures to restore peace in the state ever since the ethnic violence broke out on May 3, Sharda said that the party has been monitoring the situation and inspecting vulnerable areas round the clock.
The security advisor was timely fed with all unwanted happenings in the state.
She also stated that party's Manipur leaders even met the national president in Delhi and pressed him to take up necessary measures according to the wishes of the people, in addition to meeting Union Home minister Amit Shah and submitting population growth report of Meitei, Naga and Kuki and briefed him on the genesis of the current ethnic clash.
Amit Shah also assured of taking up stringent actions against the SoO outfits violating ground rules, she reminded.
She also stated the par ty stands for the territorial integrity of Manipur.
BJP Manipur Pradesh gen eral secretary K Sarat chandra was also present at the media briefing among others.
