Skill mobilization training programmes conducted

A one-day training programme on skill mobilization was held yesterday for young inmates between the ages of 18 to 35 years at the relief camps in Moirang College Block A, Block B and Thangjing Guest House.
The training programme was organised by State Skills Mission, Manipur State Rural Livelihood Mission (MSRLM) of Manipur State Department of Rural Development & Panchayati Raj under the Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kaushalya Yojna (DDU-GKY) and Day National Rural Livelihoods Mission (Day-NRLM) .
Around 150 inmates took part in the programme and relief materials were distributed to them afterwards.
Speaking in this connection, Nirvana Thounaojam, District Skill Level Coordinator, DDU-GKY Bishnupur stated that the awareness programme was organised with the goal of providing the rural youth with the necessary training to ensure that it provides them with a means of livelihood.
All the fooding, lodging requirements of the inmates as well as the necessary books and other items will be provided free of cost, she added.
Further, she stated that under Day NRLM steps will be undertaken to establish self-help groups and facilitate women empowerment.
Separately, a similar training programme for inmates between 18-35 years was held today at Kodompokpi Sports Complex Wangjing relief camp today.
Tengnoupal District Co-ordinator Sandeep Soram said that the programme has educated the inmates on software and web application development, vocational skill development etc.
Roughly 70 inmates participated in today's training programme and many subject experts educated the gathering about different trades.
Later essential relief materials were distributed to the inmates.
