Imphal, January 18 2024:
Many have condemned the killing of state security forces by Kuki militants in Moreh on Wednesday.
In separate releases, Global Manipur Federation (GMF) and Meetei Society Churachandpur strongly denounced the terror attacks on Manipur state forces by Kuki militants leading to the martyr of two security personnel and leaving some injured.
The lack of assistance to the state forces facing assault raises serious concerns about those in authority, they maintained, while questioning the commitment of central security forces under the Government of India, as observed in videos on social media, urging clarification on their inaction against threats.
If the central government is unable to bring the terror attacks on the state security forces under control, the state should be given full authority to perform its duty within its mandate, the bodies demanded, while expressing deep concern over the failure to control the law and order situation in Moreh and counter threats from attackers promptly.
Denouncing the central government for being a silent spectator for the last eight months when Kuki militants continue to kill and attack Meetei, they asked whether Meetei are not Indian citizens.
They further demanded the state and central governments for bringing a solution at the earliest to prevent such unfortunate incidents.
They also extended condolences on the tragic demises of Wangkhem Somorjit Meetei and Takhellambam Saileshwor Singh and those injured in the attack by Kuki militants in Moreh.
