In connection with the reported movement of armed groups advancing towards the village and undertaking rounds of the area for location survey, the Makhan (Makhen) Village Authority has decried such alleged act of trespassing and interference in the village and its territory.
A statement issued by AB Amang, chairman, Makhan Village Authority and Kailamdinang Abonmai, chief, Makhan Village has apprised the concerned armed groups "doing unsolicited patrol-like advances and surveillance in a territory that belongs to the Makhan Naga village" that such patrols are totally unacceptable.
It warned that any further act of trespassing will be deemed as blatant transgression.
Thus, Makhan Village Authority has issued a stern appeal to everyone or any groups, whether armed or unarmed, moving in and around their village to stop such rounds of surveillance which is "totally against the command and law of the Makhan Village" .
Stating that every motorist or pedestrian crossing Makhan Village are given entry and passage after proper identification and registration, it also reiterated the village's neutral stance and resolve to strive for peace and harmony.
