Burial of IRB trooper Saileshwar today

Following assurance given by the chief minister to honour demands placed by the JAC formed in connection with the killing of IRB havildar Takhellambam Saileshwar in firing by Kuki militants at Moreh, the JAC has decided to perform the last rites of the IRB trooper and burial of the mortal remains at his home village Akham Mamang Leikai on Friday.
Addressing media persons at the Akham Mamang Leikai residence of late Saileshwar, JAC convenor Hijam Kameshwor said that JAC representatives met chief minister N Biren around 2 pm Thursday and proposed the chief minister for removal of security advisor Kuldiep Singh to which the chief minister assured the JAC that the demands will be fulfilled.
He further informed that among the demand made to the chief minister included withdrawal of Assam Rifles and other central forces from thestate, deployment of state forces in conflict zones, all political parties to urge the centre to bring an end to the crisis, provide monthly salary to the wife of Saileshwar till his service period lapses, ex-gratia to the bereaved family before conduct of the 'Lanna Thouram' and free education to the two children of Saileshwar.
Kameshwor also appealed to CSOs, meira paibi groups and the public to attend the last rites of Saileshwar whose body is being kept at RIMS mortuary.
He also said that the JAC will launch intense agitations if the government fails to honour demands of the JAC.
