Imphal, April 04 2024:
Kangleipak StudentS' Association (KSA) organised a two-day academic discourse on 'fabrication of Manipur history' on Thursday and Friday and resolved to collectively counter the wrong narratives being articulated by Kuki pseudo intellectuals to distort history of Manipur.
Several resolutions were adopted during the two-day discourse with the participants grimly noting that some pseudo Kuki intellectuals are penning fabricated history of Manipur.
They also strongly condemned such devilish intention/campaign of Kuki pseudo intellectuals.
The discourse resolved to formally apprise publishing companies and competent authority to rectify the distorted history published in several reputed articles/journals and counter the fake history written from time to time.
It also appealed to those intellectuals who believe in the idea of Manipur (Kangleipak) to conduct academic exercises so as to make aware the people of the world about the true history.
It further resolved to exert pressure on the government for banning books penned by those scheming to destroy integrity of Manipur through misleading articulation.
Pressure will also be mounted on libraries not to stock such books considering the potential to mislead students who peruse the books, it added.
The academic discourse also resolved to form a think-tank group to look into books about history/culture/ethnography of Manipur (Kangleipak) and demanded the university authority for empowering 'Ethics Committee' to check the thesis produce from Social Science and Humanities school and allow submission of only those thesis accepted by the committee.
It resolved to hand over the responsibility to KSA for translating the resolutions into actions.
