AR conducts anti-drug lecture, medical camp

Assam Rifles conducted a lecture on Nasha Mukti Abhiyan at Gelngai village, Chandel district, on Thursday during which 47 Gelngai residents and others from nearby villages Were educated about the ill effects of drugs, and smoking and chewing tobacco.
Assam Rifles also organised a medical camp at Singhat village in Churachandpur district on Thursday which was attended by 45 villagers.
Earlier, Assam Rifles conducted a mega medical camp in collaboration with District Hospital, Churachandpur and Bethesda Khankho Foundation at Agape High School, Sangaikot village, Churachandpur which befitted 602 villagers including 177 women and 288 children, informed PRO IGAR (S).
On the other-hand, Assam Rifles on Wednesday provided life-saving medical aid to Dinku Singh from Moirang, Bishnupur district who was bitten by a snake on his right leg.
His relatives brought him to the Assam Rifles medical inspection room where the medical staff examined him and immediately provided necessary medical care and stabilised his condition, the PRO said in another release.
