TRAU crush CRAU by 10 wkts; PTCC, SCCC script wins in Elite tourney

TRAU overpowered CRAU by 10 wickets to move up to fourth spot in the standings of the MNCA Elite Tournament on Thursday as PTCC and SCCC also prevailed in the day's action.
Electing to field, TRAU were lethal in their attack that wreaked havoc on CRAU, wiping out the opposition's batting order in 22.4 overs for 94 .
Only Lamabam Jotin Singh (25), Sanatomba K (12) and Khangenbam Bimol Singh (10) managed to reach double figures in their innings.
Somorjit Salam and Priyojit Kangabam inflicted the major damage on CRAU, claiming three scalps apiece.
Mutum Swabhiman, on the other hand, picked wickets and Puinachandra Sharma Anoubam chipped in with one.
Then it was all up to TRAU's opening duo of Yumnam Karnajit and Pukhrambam Prafullomani Singh to finish the chase in 13.2 overs and hand their side an emphatic win.
Pukhrambam Prafullomani led the way with a brilliant knock of 75 off 50 balls and Karnajit contributed 17 .
The win see TRAU rise to fourth place in the point table.
They have registered four wins from their seven matches, earning eight points.
CYCLONE remain table leaders with 12 points from six matches, followed by CHAMP (10 pts from 6 matches) and PTRC (9 pts from 6 matches) .
CRAU, meanwhile, dropped to sixth place in the standings, following their defeat to TRAU.
They have seven points from seven matches.
PTCC, meanwhile, recorded a commanding six-wicket win over MODEL.
Asked to field first, PTCC dismissed their opponents in 39.4 overs for 146.Sadananda Okram led the scalping with three wickets while both Loukrakpam Anao Singh and Gemson grabbed two, with Sohail Akram, Naorem Victor Meitei and Dominic Moirangthem taking one each.
Dibak Naorem (35), Ronald Ningombam (28) and Bipinkumar Langpoklakpam (21) were the main run-getters in MODEL'S innings.
In their response, PTCC eclipsed the opposition's total in 40.5 overs, scoring 150 for the loss of four wickets.
Hijam Hemachandra Singh (30 not out) and Sohail Akram (23 not out) guided their side to victory after efforts from Gemson (38) and Paonam Champion Singh (26) .
For MODEL, Sunil Salam, Dibak Naorem and Waikhom Priyokumar Singh each took one wicket.
In other match, Ulenyai Khwairakpam-Sandeep Chakraborty's heroics helped SCCC beat ESU by two wickets.
SCCC bowled out ESU in 38.5 overs for 128 as Sandeep Chakraborty dazzled with the ball, taking five wickets.
Rakeshwor Republic Hidangmayum also made an impact with three scalps while both Basant and Lishan Meitei Khaidem got one for their team.
ESU's batting saw Sanatomba hit 46 and M Bimananda Singh collect 26 .
In reply, Ulenyai Khwairakpam emerged as the star performer for SCCC, smashing an unbeaten 73 to steer his team to a two-wicket victory.
Phijam Langamba Meitei contributed 11 in their triumph.
SCCC completed the chase in 38.2 overs, losing eight wickets in the process.
For, Chongtham Mehul Shreth grabbed three wickets, Sanatomba picked up two, and Lourembam Dipu Singh, Chitaranjan Sharma and Thokchom Nishikanta Singh bagged one each.
