Training conducted for Polling Officers

Kamjong/Kpi, April 04 2024:
The second batch training of Polling Officers of Kamjong District was held today at the Kamjong Election Hall (NIELIT Hall) located inside the Mini Secretariat, Ukhrul.
The Polling Officers will be on election duty at 78 polling stations of 43-Phungyar (ST) AC, the lone Assembly Constituency within Kamjong district, which goes on poll in the second phase of the upcoming Lok Sabha polls scheduled on April 26.The first batch of Polling Officers training was held yesterday at the same venue attended by 38 Polling Officers.
During the training, SDO, Phungyar Rang David Kung, MCS, instructed the Polling Officers about the functioning of different parts of the EVM machine such as ballot unit, control unit and VVPAT.
While cautioning for the possible issues arising out of improper handling of the EVM machines, the SDO exhorted the Polling Officers to properly operate the EVMs as per the Election Commission of India guidelines.
The SDO also informed about the duties of Polling Officers on poll day as prescribed by the ECI.
DEO/DC Kamjong, Rangnamei Rang Peter, IAS, while interacting with the Polling Officers, stated that the election-process is based on a well-planned strategy and hence there is no room for delay and distraction.
So everyone on election duty must perform their duty diligently leaving aside their personal interest, the DEO said.
In today's training, a Hands on Training on EVM was also conducted for the Polling Officers.
A total of 30 Polling Officers took part in the training.
Kangpokpi
The training for the female Polling Officer-2 and female Polling Officer-3 was successfully conducted today at the Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC), Kangpokpi district.
Training was given regarding Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT), usage of mobile apps e-Atlas and Poll Star.
A total number of 198 female Polling Officers attended the training session which was led by experienced instructors, including Lamminlal Simte, (Deputy DEO/SDO T Waichong), Samuel Misao (AC to DC), S Plim Reikhenamai (SDO Island and Lhungtin), Lunlenmoi Vaiphei (SDC, Kangpokpi), Lamginlen (SDC, Champhai) and Ashish Dhawal (DIO/NIC, Kangpokpi) .
