Anti-rabies vaccination drive held widely

With the rising cases of rabies in the State, anti-rabies vaccination drives were held at different places today with the aim to curb the spread of rabies.
A total of 120 dogs and 10 cats were administered anti-rabies vaccine today during a one-day drive held at Kekru Multipurpose Community hall organised by Kekru Yairi Club Yairipok (KYCY) in collaboration with District Veterinary Office Thoubal and Yairipok Veterinary Hospital.
The anti-rabies vaccination drive was organised under the aegis of Directorate of Veterinary & Animal Husbandry Services, Govt of Manipur, Dr RK Khogendrajit and District Veterinary Office Thoubal and Kakching, Joint director Dr Puyam Gojendro.
Dr K Brojen of Yairipok Veterinary Hospital and its staff and club members of KYCY took part in today's vaccination programme.
Similarly, an anti-rabies vaccination programme was held at Kairembikhok Mayai Leikai community hall led by Dr Y Sovarani of Wangjing Veterinary Dispensary.
The vaccination programme was jointly organised by the Dispensary and Sintha Club Kairembikhok Mayai Leikai.
More than 100 dogs and cats were vaccinated with anti-rabies vaccine in today's drive which started at 7 am.
It may be noted that a press release by the Social Development and Sporting Club, Pangantabi informed that the Joint Director of District Veterinary Office Thoubal and Kakching in collaboration with Veterinary Dispensary Pangantabi and local clubs organised a anti-rabies vaccination drive yesterday wherein more than 80 dogs and cats were vaccinated.
Furthermore, Tokpaching Veterinary Dispensary in association with the Nongmaikhong Youth Development Association (NYDA) conducted a anti-rabies vaccination programme on April 2 .
More than 50 dogs and cats were vaccinated during the vaccination programme.
