Election observers visit Tamenglong, Kangpokpi

Inner Manipur parliamentary constituency returning officer (RO) Th Kirankumar has notified to all concerned, particularly contesting candidates/their agents and recognised national and state political parties functioning in Manipur that the general, police and expenditure observers appointed by the Election Commission of India in connection with conduct of the 18th Lok Sabha Election, for Inner Manipur PC are putting up at Hotel Classic Grande, Chingmeirong.
In a notification issued Thursday, Th Kirankumar informed that general observer Dr Dhaval-kumar K Patel may be contacted on mobile number-9485280658, police observer Vaibhav Krishna on 8938018394/9485280657 and expenditure observer Pradhuman Badariprasad Meena on 9436889818.Meanwhile, expenditure observer for Outer Manipur PC Gaurav K Singh visited Tamenglong on Thursday to take stock of the preparations being made for the ensuing Lok Sabha Elections, in the district.
The observer held meeting with the Election Expenditure Monitoring Committee (EEMC), GST, SST, accounting and MCMC team of the district as EEM Tamenglong district nodal officer Amos Kamei briefed him in preparations for the polls in the district.
On the other hand, general observer for Outer Manipur parliamentary constituency Ujjwal Kumar and police observer Vaibhav Krishna visited Kangpokpi district on Thursday.
They were welcomed by Kangpokpi district election officer (DEO)/deputy commissioner (DC) Mahesh Chaudhari and SP Manoj Prabhakar at the DC's office complex.
The two observers took stock of the preparedness for the Lok Sabha Elections, 2024 in the district and also interacted with the DEO and the SP.
Later, they visited UJB School at Haipi under Saitu assembly constituency which will serve as one of the polling stations for the upcoming election.
The observers interacted with the staff of the school apart from visiting and interacting with residents of the relief camp at Keithelmanbi.
They then proceeded to Sadar Hills Autonomous District Council (SH-ADC) Office, where polling officers are being trained for the election, and interacted with the polling officers and shared poll related experiences.
At the DC's office complex, the two observers conducted an on-the-spot inspection of the strong rooms, procedures and protocols followed by the election officials in handling and guarding the Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) machines.
