RIMS gets advanced Neuro machine, holds medical camp

A 'Neuro Navigation System Machine' has been inaugurated on Thursday at CTVS OT Complex, RIMS by its director G Sunil Kumar Sharma.
In a release, RIMS informed that the event was attended by hospital medical superintendent N Sarijib Singh, deputy director (administration) RK Mecolt Singh, CAO/FA Sairem Sarat Singh and Neurosurgery HoD Th Gojendra Singh along with all HoDs, faculties as well as nursing officials and staff.
In his address, director G Sunil elaborated that Neuro-Navigation is an advanced technology application used in brain nerve and spinal cord surgeries.
He continued that the System which significantly increases success of brain, nerve and spinal cord surgeries, also ensures safe surgical process.
On the other-hand, RIMS Department of Community Medicine in collaboration with Yurembam Apunba Club on Thursday organised a Free Medical Camp as part of an introductory campaign on Family Adoption Program in the rural area.
In a release, the Community Medicine Department informed that the camp organised under the supervision of its HoD H Sanayaima Devi, played a crucial role in coordinating a series of free medical camps and Health Talk Programmes across different locations under Urban Health-Training Centre and Rural Health Training Centre.
During the camp, health educator M Meghachandra Meetei informed that the department plans to organise more free medical camps and Health Talks Programme in the future to provide healthcare assistance.
It mentioned that the team of specialised doctors of the department offered treatment and conducted health counselling for around 180 people and distributed free medicines to the needy ones during the free medical camp.
The event concluded with a guiding session by MSW, health inspector and senior residents of RIMS, it added.
