Killing of Alur Seikho condemned

Zeliangrong United Front (ZUF) expressed immense condolences over the untimely demise of Alur Seikho, Joint Secretary cum War Victims Secretary and Minority Affairs.
'Alur Seikho was killed in cold blood by the enemy' said a statement by the Media Cell, ZUF.
The Central Executive Council and all rank and files of ZUF conveyed its deepest condolences and assured the bereaved family that ZUF shall honourably commit their best possible to do good for the lost of their most beloved warrior.
'Further, we shall ever cherish the memory of his exemplary leadership, faithfulness, patriotic courage and his unflinching commitment made for the cause of Zeliangrong Homeland', it said.
'ZUF shall not lightly let go of the worth of his supreme sacrifices and contribution without recompensing the family, village and tribe of our beloved warrior', it added.
On the other hand, United Naga Council (UNC) has strongly condemned the killing of ZUF cadre Alur Thoitak Chiru on April 11 at Chuangphun village, Kangpokpi district by "unknown armed outfit" .
In a statement issued today, UNC said that perpetration of violent acts and killings only heighten collective anguish and misery.
It further said justification of the same acts whatsoever will only impede "our progress toward lasting peace and justice in our land".
While strongly condemning the killing of Alur Thoitak Chiru, UNC said it will not tolerate such acts of cowardice and brutality in "our land, and we urge all democratic voices and peace loving people of the land to work and strive for a violence free society" .
