Basanta will get ministerial berth, says Chaoba

Thounaojam Basanta Kumar, the BJP candidate for Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency, has high potential to secure a ministerial berth if elected in the upcoming Lok Sabha election, according to his father and former union minister Thounaojam Chaoba.
Chaoba made this announcement during an election meeting hosted at the residence of BJP Manipur Pradesh vice-president Oinam Lukhoi at Yumnam Huidrom Thiyam Leishangkhong on Thursday.
He revealed that union home minister Amit Shah personally informed him about the party's decision, hours before Basanta Kumar's candidature was officially announced.
Highlighting the meticulous selection process, Chaoba disclosed that Basanta Kumar s candidature was decided by a high-level team comprising Prime Minister Modi, RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Amit Shah, and other influential figures.
He expressed gratitude to Amit Shah for positively responding to his request for a ministerial berth for his son during the telephonic conversation, while urging for public support for Basanta Kumar in the upcoming election to safeguard the interests of Manipur and India.
The former president of BJP Manipur Pradesh also praised Chief Minister Biren for his commitment in protecting the indigenous people of the state from illegal immigrants and the drug menace.
In their addresses, Thounaojam Basanta Kumar assured to prioritise the interests of the people and work diligently to fulfil their aspirations as works minister Govindas Konthoujam expressed confidence in BJP's victory, and predicted leads in all 32 assembly segments in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituency.
He identified six assembly constituencies along the Tiddim road as strongholds for the BJP and called for support to restore peace and development in the state.
Former minister O Lukhoi also expressed confidence in BJP leading in Wangoi assembly constituency, citing CM Biren and PM Modi's commitment to its development, despite the absence of a BJP MLA in Wangoi.
The campaign meeting was attended by BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda and other party leaders.
