PTRC crush MODEL to go third as TRAU, ESU enjoy big wins

PTRC pummelled MODEL by 202 runs to move up to third spot in the standings of the 8th MNCA Elite Tournament as TRAU and ESU also recorded resounding wins on Friday.
With the result, PTRC are now just a point behind both table leaders CHAMP (NRR 1.128) and second-placed CYCLONE (NRR 0.955), collecting 12 points from nine matches.
A blistering knock of 141 by Jotin Singh Pheiroijam, backed by 79 from both Ngariyanbam Johnson Singh Ngariyanbam Jameson Singh, steered PTRC to a staggering 399/9.Aside from the trio, Raj Kumar Rex Singh (31) and Chingakham Bidash Meitei (20 not out) also did their bit with decent scores in the innings.
PTRC then bowled out MODEL in 42.5 overs for 197 for their emphatic victory.
Khaidem Joyraj Meitei led the scalping with four wickets while Deepak picked up three, Raj Kumar Rex Singh claimed two and Ngariyan-bam Johnson Singh contributed in their side's win.
MODEL's run chase saw Thoudam Deepak Singh score 37 as Pechimayum Amarjit Singh and Veteshor Sharma each made 27.Earlier, Sunil Salam and Di-bak Naorem took two wickets each for MODEL.
TRAU, meanwhile, enjoyed an eight-wicket thrashing of REYS.
Opting to field, TRAU bundled out REYS for 103 in 31.1 overs as Priyojit Kangabam unleashed a lethal spell, taking five wickets.
Mutum Swabhiman also impressed with three scalps while Anand Naorem had one.
Sougrakpam Shangkar Singh (27) and Mustaque Mohammed (20) were the only notable run-getters in REYS' innings.
Chasing 104, TRAU took 15.5 overs to accomplish the task, with Pukhrambam Prafullomani Singh smashing 52 and Yumnam Karnajit scoring an unbeaten 39.During the chase, TRAU lost two wickets to Kiran Laishram.
In the day's other match, ESU outclassed Al-Ameen by seven wickets.
ESU decided to held and dismissed Al-Ameen for a meagre 82 in 31.4 overs.
Chitaranjan Sharma led the attack with three wickets as both Chongtham Mehul Shreth and Lourembam Dipu Singh claimed two apiece, with Hanjabam Donba Sharma taking one to pave the way for their team's triumph.
The Wangkhei squad then needed 18.3 overs to achieve the target courtesy of Chongtham Mehul Shreth (.36), Yumkham Shivajit Singh (18) and Hanjabam Naoba Sharma (5 not out).
For Al-Ameen, Najarul Islam took two wickets and Khulakpam Shahadat Ali got one.
