RPF urges all to join 'martyrs' day' observation

Imphal, April 12 2024:
The proscribed RPF has appealed to all the people to offer fitting tributes to all the martyrs on Saturday, April 13 at their memorial tombs.
While offering homage to all the martyrs of both the hills and the valley who had laid down their lives for the cause of Manipur, the proscribed RPF and its armed wing PLA have conveyed solidarity to all the women who have lost their husbands/sons and those people who have been maimed for life on account of the atrocities committed by the alien forces.
A statement issued by the outfit's Deputy Secretary, Publicity Roben Khuman asserted that many heroes sacrificed their lives at the Battle of Kodompokpi for a brighter future of the subjugated people.
There is a glorious legacy of the sacrifices made by many heroes over the years for an independent Nation but of late, the Government of India has been working hard to obscure and misinterpret this legacy, it alleged.
Instead of fighting this diabolic policy of India, many pseudo intellectuals have been contributing to the same efforts.
By engineering communal conflicts, this suicidal war has been made a National issue.
The situation has only worsened with the puppet State Government taking active roles in the suicidal conflict created by India, it alleged.
Unable to understand the conflict, the people too have been employing all their energy and resources in the same conflict, it said.
The outfit alleged that a community or two have been conspiring to disintegrate Manipur at the instigation of India.
It's not too late to reconcile and work out a solution .
Manipur was a sovereign Nation and what can be a bigger issue than the issue of restoring Manipur's sovereignty, it asked.
Earlier, there were not too many organisations and the people understood this issue.
The organisations were working in the interest of Manipur.
But there are a large number of organisations today and many of them are influenced by India.
The emergence of leaders from amongst retired Indian military officers, criminals and bureaucrats who retired for not getting promotion with their own separate demands and the emergence of isolated movements are classic examples of Chanakya's policy, 'confuse them if they refuse to listen to you', the outfit said.
It then questioned which organisation set up by elites would work for the masses.
India has been plotting for such a situation over a period of time by utilising a substantial amount of money and manpower.
Many who are in the payroll of RAW have been masquerading as leaders and making all kinds of boastful statements.
People need to see through this game, it asserted.
It's time to stop all activities which may create inimical forces and sharpen ethnic polarisation.
It's time to focus on re-building a united Manipur, the outfit asserted.
The abandoned and shabby tombs located at different localities were built in memory of those heroes who sacrificed their lives in the struggle to liberate Manipur, not in some petty fights for personal matters, it reminded.
The recent crisis was genocide and ethnic cleansing and it must be fought back.
But at the same time, one must know the real culprits.
Those leaders who were targeting a particular community with scathing remarks to create the existing situation are just followers of the 'Delhi bandits', it alleged.
At one point of time, people raised strong objections against border fencing.
Now people are hailing New Delhi for constructing border fence and scrapping the Free Movement Regime.
Such is the shrewdness of New Delhi, it remarked.
Had New Delhi seen the people of Manipur as fellow citizens, the violent crisis would have never taken place nor would they have armed non-local people with sophisticated weapons to kill innocent people, it said.
India is a very strong country militarily and it should not be watching silently when two communities have been killing each other for almost one year within its political boundary.
"If our people cannot see through India's ploy even at this critical hour, what will happen to the future generations as well as the present generation?" it asked.
The present generation must ponder over the fate of Manipur which they would hand over to the future generations, the outfit said.
The recent crisis awakened a strong sense of nationalism among the people but nationalism without political ideology is not desirable and it seldom achieves success, the outfit continued.
"All our people are oppressed lots and the oppressed people must not see each other as enemies.
Our enemy is the Government of the oppressive country and those local leaders who have been acting at the behest of the oppressive regime are traitors", it said.
The outfit also paid homage to all the village volunteers who died defending the integrity of Manipur.
Calling upon all the people to light up lamps at their residential gates in the evening tomorrow in honour of all the martyrs, the outfit further appealed not to organise any celebration or entertainment programmes except religious functions on April 13 .
