NAPSA, NCA prevail in 7th MNCA Plate Tournament

NAPSA, Kha Imphal and NCA Ningthoukhoung emerged victorious in their respective group matches of the ongoing 7th MNCA Plate Tournament, today.
While NAPSA defeated SHADOW Thangmeiband by 34 runs in the Group A encounter, NCA overwhelmed SDC Laipham Khunou by 77 runs in the Group B match.
In the first match of the day staged at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium, SHADOW won the toss and opted to field first while NAPSA set a target of 195 in 40 overs with Guite Khualminlian of the Thangmeiband side clinching 4 wickets.
The highest run scorer of the winning side was Tongbram Dhanakuber Singh who knocked unbeaten 32 runs in 60 deliveries while other contributors include Premananda Ahongshangbam (27 off 32 balls), Heisnam Boney (24 off 32 balls), Sengtung (24 off 36 balls), Bipin Singh Ningthoutham (14 off 32 balls) and Monjit Loushangbam (11 off 9 balls).
SHADOW'S Paras Sharma also fell three wickets in the innings.
In the chase, Yoihenba Thoudam smashed 50 off 46 deliveries while Reolin Oinam hit 32 off 35 balls but the team (SHADOW) altogether struck only 161 and they were bundled out in 36.3 overs with maximum wickets of the innings coming from Heisnam Boney (4 wkts) and Bipin Singh Ningthoujam (3 wkts) of the winning side.
H Boney who took 4 wickets and scored 24 runs was declared man of the match.
The following match played at Model Higher Secondary & Oriental Ground saw NCA beating SDC by 77 runs.
In the match, NCA bat first and set a low target of 131 but the Laipham Khunou side couldn't take home the win as NCA displayed prolific bowling performance and dismissed all their opponent's wickets in just 14.2 overs.
The losing side struck only 54 runs.
Chourjeet RK of NCA who fell 7 wickets in 7.2 over was declared the man of the match.
