ICDS-Mission 2016 batch staffers warn of stir

The Association of Contract Staff ICDS-Mission has cautioned of launching various democratic protests if the results of the special DPC held repeatedly for contract-based staff under 2016 ICDS-Mission, Social Welfare Department are not declared by January 31.Addressing a press meet held in this regard on Thursday, Association general secretary Maibam Romeshchandra said that the 1-year contract period under 2016 ICDS-Mission, Social Welfare Department was extended by one more year.
However, after 2 months, the department issued a notice informing that the service was discontinued in accordance with 2017-12-1 Order no..03-01 2016 .
On January 11, 2019, another notification was issued for contract service for 3 new schemes, namely Mahila Shakti Kendra, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Vandana Yojana and Poshan Abhiyaan.
In this regard, the Association filed an appeal to the High Court, which then passed an order for considering a special DPC of the 133 petitioners.
Subsequently, a scheduled DPC was held on March 16 and 18 of 2020.Romeshchandra continued that instead of declaring the result of the special DPC, the department issued a notice on October 5, 2021 notifying its cancellation.
On November 20, 2021, the department issued a notice for conduct of another special DPC, he recalled.
Requesting the CM to consider the plight of the staff who have been toiling for over 5 years and are now no longer eligible for government jobs due to age bar limit; the general secretary urged for declaring the result of the special DPC by January 31, failing which various agitations would be launched.
