Plate Tournament: NAPSA, NCA carry the day

Imphal, January 19 2023:
NAPSA (Kha Imphal) and NCA (Nongthoukhong) emerged the victors in the Thursday's matches of the 7th MNCA Plate Tournament.
NAPSA claimed a 34-run win over SHADOW (Thangmeiband) in their Group A encounter at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Put in to bat, NAPSA were all out for 195 .
Their total was built on efforts from Tongbram Dhanakuber (32), Prem-ananda Ahongshangbam (27), Heisnam Boney (24), Bipin Ningthoujam (14) and Monjit Loushambam (11) .
Guite Khualminlian was the chief destroyer for SHADOW with four scalps.
Paras Sharma also made his mark by picking up three wickets as Sagatpam Lanchenba took two and Rahuk Kumar bagged one.
In their response, SHADOW'S top-order combined contributed 114 courtesy of Yoihenba Thoubam (50), Paras Sharma (32) and Re-olin Oinam (32), but their dismissals proved costly for the Thangmeiband side, who were bundled out for 161 in 36.3 overs.
Heisnam Boney bowled well to scalp four wickets as Bipin Ningthoujam did his bit with three wickets, coupled with one each from Rocky Yumnam and Nepram Richer, for NAPSA's victory.
Heisnam Boney received the man of the match trophy for his four wickets and 24 runs.
In the day's Group B match, NCA hammered SDC (Laip-ham Khunou) by 77 runs at Oriental College.
NCA, who Were asked to bat first, had a poor innings that saw them being skittled out for 131 in 32 overs.
Moirangthem Karmachand (40), N Sidarth (19) and L Ramdas (18) were the notable performers in their innings.
For SDC, Thangboy Doungel stole the show snapping six wickets while Bollanath and Barneshwor Shamurailatpam took two each.
However, SDC's brilliant bowling display went in vain as the NCA bowlers stepped up for their side and churned out a lethal attack that wiped out SDC batting lineup for 54 in just 14.2 overs.
It was Chourjeet Rk who wreaked havoc on SDC batters.
The prolific NCA bowler claimed seven wickets in his 7.2 overs, backed d by three scalps Shinoj Khwairakpam, to help the Ningthoukhong squad record an emphatic 77-run victory.
Chourjeet Rk deservedly took home the man of the match award.
