Governor reviews devt works at Tamenglong

In his maiden visit to Tamenglong district, Governor La Ganesan reviewed various developmental works being taken up in the district today.
The Governor also interacted with the District Level Officers (DLOs), representatives of civil society organizations (CSOs), village chiefs, women leaders and students.
He heard their grievances and assured to extend all possible help to address them.
At an interaction programme held at the Multipurpose Hall, Apollo Ground in the district headquarters, Governor La Ganesan said issues pertaining to road, healthcare, education etc needs special attention and he will see that all the developmental works and issues raised are addressed on time.
All the issues raised by the people are genuine and therefore, departments and authorities concerned will be asked to address them at the earliest.
The Governor assured that he will also ask the Chief Minister to lookinto their grievances.
Tamenglong is a beautiful place to visit and the orange of the district is very popular not only in the State but in every part of the country.
There are issues and difficulties in marketing, but these issues will be solved, La Ganesan said.
"Roads are being built and within a year, we will witness a sea of changes in the connectivity sector," he said.
Insisting that the youths are the pillars of the Nation, the Governor said that they (youths) should contribute towards Nation building.
A strong Nation would be made possible only when youths are empowered with education, he added.
Expressing concern over the increasing number of youths indulging in abusing drugs and trafficking, La Ganesan said, this has to be, in any case, prevented with collective efforts of the Government.

The State Govt has already started taking action against poppy cultivation, which is welcomed by one and all.
People should extend their hands and join the Govt in making Manipur, a drug free State, he said.
He also spoke about COVID-19 pandemic and said, due to the prompt action of the Government and the cooperation from the general public, the disease has been brought under control.
Asking people to still take precautions, he appealed them to get vaccinated against Covid to defeat the pandemic.
He also asked the district authorities to conduct a survey to find out TB patients and report to the department concerned so as to enable them to carry out treatment and other related measures.
Earlier, Tamenglong district Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav made a power point presentation regarding various initiatives which are being taking up in the district for the welfare of the people.
Several CSOs and student leaders submitted memoranda to the Governor asking for assistance and initiatives in developing and improving healthcare, education infrastructure and connectivity in the region.
On his arrival at the helipad in the 44th Assam Rifles Battalion Headquarters, the Governor was accorded a warm welcome by DC Pawan Yadav; SP Anupam; CO 44 AR Colonel Rahul Singh and other officials.
The Governor was accompanied by his Secretary Bobby Waikhom on his visit.
