YPHU, YCC victorious in 10th Manipur Veteran T-20 Cricket Tournament

YPHU-Lalambung returned to winning ways with a 7 run win over YWC-Langthabal as YCC- Wangkhei opened winning account with a 7-wicket win over UCC in today's Group A matches of the ongoing 10th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament.
YPHU who had posted a win in two matches, racked up a moderate total of 132 runs for 7 after winning the toss and choosing to bat first this morning at Luker ground.
The team then ended YWC-Langthabal's 2-game winning run with by restricting them to 125 runs for 8 in the chase.
Ng Kenny (29), Dhaneshor (23), Alai (17) and Kh Hemanta (15) were main run contributors to YPHU's tally in their innings which saw L Sasi and M Priyokumar of YWC claiming two wickets each.
YWC's L Manaobi and M Ashokumar also picked up a wicket each in this innings.

In reply, YWC lost the opener cheaply before L Sasi (32) and M Ashokumar (27) gave some hope.
Their departure however greatly affected their momentum and the run rate dropped with K Gyanranjan leading the bowling attack and eventually slumped to 125 for 8 at the end.
K Gyanranjan returned with the best figures of 3/30 and earned himself the man of the match accolade as his compatriots- Th Pyarlal and M Meiraba shared two wickets each.
Later in the day, UCC won the toss and elected to bat first but were bowled out for 93 runs in 20 overs before YCC chased down the target in 18.3 overs with 7 wickets left to spare.
It was the first win for the Wangkhei team after two successive losses.
For YCC, A Rajee Sharma (22), L Bishorjit (20), GB Rout (17) were the main run getter in their innings which saw A Rakesh of YCC shine by claiming four wickets for 14 runs in his spell of 4 overs and Y Robinchandra takes 3 wickets for 13 runs in 2 overs.
S Santikumar and H Premananda were also able to claim a wicket each to slow the run rate of UCC.
In reply, YCC lost the top three batter cheaply but K Swami (26) and S Shantikumar (27) forged a significant fourth wicket stand to take their team to a winning 95 in 18.3 overs. A Rakesh of YCC was eventually named man of the match.
