Sit-in protest staged against sacrilege of Sri Sri Madanmohanji Mandir

Locals of Guru Aribam Leikai Bamon Leikai have strongly denounced the sacrilege of Sri Sri Madanmohanji Mandir by vandalising the idols and other items of the temple which is one of the oldest in the State.
Protesting against this act, the locals staged a sit-in today at the locality and urged the Government to probe the matter and provide befitting punishment to the perpetrators involved in the act and appealed to all concerned to refrain from such acts in future.
Speaking at the sidelines of the protest, Guruaribam Sanatomba Sharma, caretaker of Sri Sri Madanmohanji Mandir termed the act as inhuman and is a form of utmost disrespect of the divine power.

Condemning the breaking in at the temple and vandalisation of idols and other items inside the temple, he said that it is disheartening that such anti-social act has been carried out at Sri Sri Madanmohanji Mandir which is more than 300 years old and is one of the oldest temple in the State.
He appealed to the State Government to arrest the perpetrators involved in the act at the earliest and award them stringent punishment to ensure that such acts do not recur which may disrupt the peaceful co-existence among people of different faiths.
